About Varna
Vàrna is the largest city and seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast and the third largest city in Bulgaria. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous province and Varna Municipality and the tenth-largest city in the Balkans.
Commonly referred to as the marine (or summer) capital of Bulgaria, Varna is a major tourist destination, a starting point for all the resorts in the northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, encompassing the so called Bulgarian Las Vegas - Golden Sands, business and university centre, seaport, and headquarters of the Bulgarian Navy and merchant marine.

Travelling Documents
Travelling to Bulgaria is very easy. The documentation required varies, depending on your nationality. A valid passport is required for a stay of up to 90 days for all bonafide tourists except citizens of European Union countries, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Serbia, F.Y.R.O.M. and Norway who may enter Bulgaria with their national identity card provided it bears a photo. Some non-EU third country nationals require a visa.

Letter of Invitation
Delegates requiring a letter of invitation in order to attend the conference may write to the Conference Secretariat
specifying the necessary details. Please note that this procedure aims at assisting the delegates who need to obtain
a visa or permission to attend the conference. It is not an official invitation covering fees and other expenses and does
not imply any financial support.

Climate
Bulgaria enjoys a Mediterranean climate.

Language
Bulgarian is the official language. English and Russian are widely spoken. French and German are also spoken within the tourism Industry, especially in Albena.

Currency / Banking Hours / Credit Cards
The currency of the Republic of Bulgaria is the Leva (BGN) with fixed rate with Euro (€) 1,95BGN for 1€. Banking hours for the public: Monday-Friday 09:00 - 16:30. There are many Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) outside most branches of banks in all towns and in the main tourist resorts. Hotels, large shops and restaurants normally accept credit cards and traveller's cheques. Banknotes of major foreign currencies are also acceptable. Rates of exchange are published daily in the local press and are broadcasted via the media.

Insurance
It is recommended that participants arrange insurance for medical expenses, loss and accidents occurring during the conference. The organizers cannot be held responsible for any losses, damages or injuries.

Electric Current - Voltage
The supply in Bulgaria is 220 volts, a.c. 50Hz. Sockets are usually 13 amp, round pin in most buildings.

Chemist Pharmacies / Drug Stores
They stay open during shopping hours. Late night chemists are listed in the daily papers.

Emergency phone
In Bulgaria the emergency phone is 112 as is on all the other EU countries. It's toll free from any phone.

Silistra – Danube romance:
One day trip by bus through the fertile Danube plain.
A visit to an old Bulgarian house in the town of Alfatar, where guests are welcome in an old Slavonic tradition with bread and salt. Ethnographic exhibition, authentic folklor? and apricot rakiya (strong Bulgarian alcoholic drink) tasting. A visit to Holy Trinity church, where icons of famous Bulgarian Tryavna school are preserved.
A boat trip along the Danube river – soft drinks and champagne are served and popular music is played on the accordion.
Lunch in a national Bulgarian restaurant A rich folk programme is shown.
Return to the resort at about 19:30. The excursion price includes: transport – an air-conditioned bus, lunch, entrance tickets, a boat trip, a tour-guide The price is 40 euro per person


Paid registrants (non-authors) who cannot attend, and do not send a substitute, will be refunded with a cancellation fee of 100 EUR if a request is received in writing one month before the conference. Registrants are liable for their full fees after that date (i.e., NO refund will be made).

There will be no refunds to authors of papers.

Student Travel Grants
 

The MCSI 2014 will offer up to 12 student travel awards of 400 Euro each, for students presenting papers at the 2014 International Conference on Mathematics and Computers in the Sciences and Industry

Only papers that have been considered positively by at least two reviewers can be considered. The selection will concern only papers that have been accepted and is based following the ranking established by the referees during the procedure of paper evaluation.

The deadline for sending the Travel Grant application is March 1, 2014.

How to get


How to get to Varna

By plane
Varna Airport: 8 km west of the city centre. Easy bus and taxi connection to city centre and resorts. There is a free shuttle bus between Varna Airport, Varna city centre and Burgas Airport.

By train
The central train station is located within walking distance from city centre and cruise terminal, there is a bus and taxi connection to airport, bus stations, and resorts. Daily services are available from Sofia, Plovdiv, and Rousse.
There is one direct international train always available. Night train #059 departs Kiev daily, journey time is just under 35 hours. On its way to Varna, this train also stops in Lviv (25 h) and Bucharest (8 h). During the summer seasons several more destinations are added. Which cities have a direct connection varies from year to year but expect Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Minsk from the east and Prague and Warsaw amongst others to be on the list.

By car
Varna can be reached by Haemus Motorway (A2) from Sofia, E70 from Rousse (and Bucharest), E87 from Constanta, Romania, and Cherno More Motorway (A3)/E87 from Istanbul, Turkey.

By bus
There are two bus stations in Varna, one serving the local area and one for longer connections to Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas, Plovdiv, Istanbul, Greece, Romania, Central and Western Europe. They aren't that easy to find, so take a taxi. As you approach them from the city centre, the station to the left is the local one, to the right is the long distance one.

By boat
Varna is Bulgaria's only cruise destination. Cruise terminal is located near city centre, close to train station, walking distance to Sea Garden and beaches. Bus and taxi connection to city centre, bus stations, airport, and resorts. There are ferry lines (buses only) to Ukraine and Georgia.
